Rohit Sharma looks to his ace the test of South African quicks as he prepares for the three-match series starting later this month. The Hit-Man aced the Test in England and will aim to do so against South Africa, especially after his promotion. In a video uploaded by him on social media, Rohit Sharma was seen practicing in the nets as he played out some throwdowns trying to get used to the bounce on offer.

The Hit-Man could be seen timing the ball sweetly, while he worked on leaving the ball in the sixth stump channel. The throwdowns were aimed at getting used to the pace of the South African quicks, with the Proteas boasting the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi in their ranks.

Rohit Sharma last played a Test in England, and was one of India’s star performers, helping them to a 2-1 lead before the final Test was postponed. He was India’s leading run-getter and only second behind Joe Root, as he slammed 368 runs at a stunning average of 52. Now vice-captain, there will be further responsibility on the Hit-Man to get the job done for his side. India have never won a Test series in South Africa and the Virat Kohli and Co. will hope to change the course of history this time around.
