IPL 2022 Retentions: With the IPL 2022 retentions unveiled last night, it’s certain KL Rahul, David Warner, and Shreyas Iyer will now no longer be part of Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals respectively. After parting ways with Punjab Kings, KL Rahul took to his Instagram handle to post a ‘Thank You’ note for his IPL franchise. Tagging Punjab Kings in the post, Rahul wrote: It was a good ride, thank you for the love .. see u on the other side

Anil Kumble, the Director of Cricket Operations (Punjab Kings) has said that the franchise wanted to retain KL Rahul but the skipper opted to go back into the auction pool. KL Rahul was signed by Punjab Kings for whopping 11 crores ahead of the 2018 IPL edition.

‘Chapter closed’ says David Warner: Released by Sunrisers Hyderabad, David Warner posted a photo on his Instagram handle thanking The Orange Army and all his fans for the support and love received over the years.

“Chapter closed!! Thanks to all of the fans @srhfansofficial @sunrisersfansofficial for your support over all the years, it was was much appreciated. #fans #loyal,” Warner wrote in the caption.

Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan too has been released by Sunrisers Hyderabad and the leg spinner will be going back into the auction pool. Rashid was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017 for 4 crores & was being paid 9 crores since the 2018 IPL edition.

“It has been a wonderful journey with the @sunrisershyd Thank you for your support, love and for believing in me. To the #OrangeArmy you’ve been my pillar of strength and I shall forever be grateful for such wonderful fans” Rashid wrote in his Instagram post.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have released both the explosive openers – David Warner & Jonny Bairstow along with star spinner Rashid Khan. Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad & Umran Malik are the three retentions SRH named last night.

Meanwhile, India’s newest test debutant and former Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer too took to his official Instagram handle to show gratitude for his IPL franchise. Iyer posted  reel video with the caption: “Dear Dilli, it’s been an honour”.

Prithvi Shaw – who has been retained by Delhi Capitals took the comment section and replied: “You will be missed skipper”

Delhi Capitals have retained skipper Rishabh Pant, opener Prithvi Shaw, all-rounder Axar Patel and South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje.
