Faf du Plessis

CSK opener Faf du Plessis emerged as the second most run-scorer in IPL 2021. He amassed 633 runs, only a couple of runs short of Ruturaj Gaikwad. His exceedingly well performances guided CSK to 4th IPL trophy. The South Africa specialist have been consistent for CSK for last few seasons. Besides batting prowess, he is known for his special fielding talent at long-on and long-off boundaries. He was paid Rs 1.6 crore in the last 4 IPL seasons. Age is the only factor that kicks him out of the retentions race. The 37-year-old has experience playing 100 IPL matches with 2935 runs featuring 22 fifties. He scored 396, 449 and 633 in last three IPL seasons.

Harshal Patel

RCB pacer Harshal Patel took IPL 2021 by storm by picking record 32 wickets in the IPL season. He equalled Dwayne Bravo’s record of most wickets in an IPL season, paving India debut against New Zealand. His exceptional performance guided RCB to the playoffs. The 31-year-old was bought for Rs 20 lakhs in the last IPL auctions but his price is expected to skyrocket in crores after a scintillating performance.

Shardul Thakur

Chennai Super Kings star all-rounder Shardul Thakur had a breakthrough season. He took 21 wickets in 16 matches and also played for India on the back of his IPL heroics. Despite bowling heroics, Shardul Thakur is known for crucial runs in the lower order. He was bought for Rs 2.6 crore by CSK in IPL 2018. CSK are likely to show interest to keep him back at the IPL 2022 auctions.

Rahul Tripathi

Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Rahul Tripathi amassed 397 runs in 17 matches. His good show with the bat helped KKR make it to the finals. He is someone who can play at any position owing to his flexibility. He was bought by KKR for just Rs 60 lakh and the franchise might look to re-buy him for a higher sum. He is likely to be sold in crores in upcoming IPL 2022 mega auctions.

Jason Holder

SRH might had a disastrous last IPL season but Jason Holder was at his best. He took 16 wickets in just 8 matches at an impressive economy rate of 7.75 rpo. He had also shined with 14 wickets in 7 matches in IPL 2020. SRH and IPL scouts are likely to target him for IPL 2022 season. The West Indies allrounder was bought for just Rs 75 lakh. His worth is likely to go to new heights in upcoming IPL 2022 auctions.
