PBKS was interested in retaining captain KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Ravi Bishnoi & Arshdeep Singh for the forthcoming season – but Rahul’s decision to quit the franchise has completely derailed PBKS plans.
Mayank Agarwal is expected to lead Punjab Kings in the upcoming IPL 2022. He received a major boost in salary. From Rs 1 crore, he will now be getting Rs 12 crore. However, Rs 12 crore will be deducted from Punjab Kings’ purse, leaving them with Rs 72 crore.

“Rahul was a challenge. We wanted to retain him and we chose him as the captain. But Rahul wanted to go to the auction,” Anil Kumble said.
