Afghanistan spin legend Rashid Khan and pacer T Natarajan are also front-runners in the retention list for the Orange army. Kane Williamson

  • New Zealand and SRH captain Kane Williamson bring in a lot of experience as a leader.
  • He might have failed to weave his magic in IPL 2021 but his captaincy at T20 World Cup reinstates his name among key leaders.
  • He has led SRH in 33 matches with 16 wins and an equal number of losses while one game was tied.
  • At 50 per cent success rate, he remains key to the future of Sunrisers. His current IPL salary is Rs 3 crore.

Rashid Khan

  • SRH ace spinner Rashid Khan is a vital cog for the franchise.
  • He is the most successful player for the Sunrisers and economical.
  • He can change the game at any moment of the game.
  • He has taken 93 wickets in 76 IPL matches at a staggering economy rate of 6.33 rpo.
  • His excellent record speaks for itself which makes him an automatic pick for IPL 2022 retention.
  • Rashid Khan draws a salary of Rs 9 crore and SRH would be happy to keep him as a player of his calibre can touch record highs in auctions.

T Natarajan

  • SRH pacer T Natarajan might have missed the UAE leg of IPL but he can be a long-term investment for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
  • He can bowl in the powerplay and death overs and take wickets. His economy rate of 8.23 is also impressive.
  • The 30-year-old had a dream season in 2020 where he returned with 16 wickets which paved his way to the Indian Cricket Team.
  • He can be the leader of the pace group. Natarajan is paid a whopping Rs 4 crore in IPL.

Jonny Bairstow/ Bhuvneshwar Kumar

  • With David Warner parting ways with SRH, the franchise would look to retain its attacking opener Jonny Bairstow.
  • The England batsman might have pulled out of IPL 2021 Phase 2 but did fire in India leg.
  • He has scored 1000+ runs in just 28 matches with an impressive average of 41+.
  • He can provide an explosive start for the Sunrisers. Bairstow is paid Rs 2.2 crore in IPL but his price is likely to increase.
