WTA Finals 2021: Women’s World Tour 2021 is coming to an end with WTA Finals, starting from 10th November and ends on 17th November 2021. Top players like Naomi Osaka and World No.1 Ashleigh Barty have withdrawn from rest of the season due to personal and mental health reasons. WTA Finals will feature top 8 players and 8 doubles teams of this season vying for the pretigious year-end singles and doubles titles. The tournament will take place at Guadalajara, Mexico. Follow updates of WTA finals on InsideSport.

WTA Finals is divided into two groups in singles and doubles categories, they are Chichen Itza, Teotihuacan, Tenochtitlan, and El Tajin. The groups were named after ancient cities in Mexico as a way of tribute to pre-Colombian era of Mexican history. The tournament consists of three robin round matches, semifinals and final. In the robin round, each singles player and doubles team have to win at least two matches to qualify for the semifinals.

Prize money for WTA Finals 2021

Prize money for WTA Finals this year is $5 million, which will be divided between 8 singles players and 8 doubles teams. Unfortunately, this prize money for WTA finals was slashed by $9 million or could say 35.71% decrease from last year. Last year, the prize money for WTA finals was $14 million. As per some reports, the reason behind the huge decrease in the prize money is because of COVID-19 pandemic or change in the venue. The prize money for WTA Finals is divided into 4. This is applicable to singles players and doubles teams.
