As the New Zealand team has chosen Kolkata as their practice venue to prepare for the two-match series against India, the recee team consisting of Mike Sandle, Team Manager, and Andrew Love, Head of Risk met Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Avishek Dalmiya and Secretary Snehashis Ganguly along with other CAB members.

The Kane Williamson-led side will practice at the Jadavpur University second campus ground at Saltlake before going to Kanpur for the first Test, scheduled to begin from November 25. It will mark the start of a new cycle for the World Test Championship (WTC).

“The recee team expressed satisfaction after the visit seeing the facilities and Bio Bubble arrangements norms at the venue. The Test team would be practising at Jadavpur University 2nd Campus Venue,” said Avishek Dalmiya as reported by CAB.

“We understand the importance of the safety of the players. We have the experience of holding matches in bio-bubble and will make sure that everything is in place,” said Snehashis Ganguly.

The three T20Is between New Zealand and India are to be played in Jaipur (November 17), Ranchi (November 19), and Kolkata (November 21). The T20I series will then be followed by a two-match Test series.

The first Test match will be played in Kanpur from November 25 to 29 followed by the second Test in Mumbai from December 3 to 7. The Test series will be the first meeting between the two teams in the longest format of the game since the WTC final in June.
