Jos Buttler became just the eighth batsman to score a hundred in the T20 World Cup when he slammed a scintillating 100 on a difficult pitch against Sri Lanka in Sharjah. After motoring along to a 50 off 44 balls, Buttler went into another gear, reaching his century in 67 balls to help England to 163 in their 20 overs. The England wicketkeeper’s century was the first of this edition of the T20 World Cup, and only the second time an England batsman had scored a hundred in the tournament.

ENG vs SL LIVE: Jos Buttler becomes first Englishman to score 100 in all formats, slams T20 World Cup’s first century vs Sri Lanka
Jos Buttler’s century was his maiden in T20Is, and also made him the first player from England to score a century in all three formats of the game. No player had previously scored centuries in all Tests, ODIs and T20Is for England, but Buttler’s century against Sri Lanka ended that streak. Overall, he is the 15th to do so, while Chris Gayle was the first achieve that milestone.
