Shakib Al Hasan ruled out of T20 WC: As per a report by BDCricketTime, Shakib Al Hasan will leave the team hotel on Monday after being ruled out of the T20 World Cup. The all-rounder, who is the leading wicket-taker in T20Is, will travel to the US with his family from the UAE. The report quoted a source who said, “Shakib’s injury has not healed. He is unlikely to play in the next two matches. Shakib will leave the hotel tomorrow or the day after tomorrow’s match. He will go to his family in the United States.”

Shakib Al Hasan ruled out of T20 WC: Shakib Al suffered a hamstring injury while playing against the West Indies on Friday. Despite the injury, the former Bangladesh captain completed his quota of overs, before coming put to bat, albeit at the top of the order. Earlier,  the Bangladesh medical team had kept him under observation for two days but now has been allowed to leave with no chance of him being available for the remaining two games.

Earlier this week, the Event Technical Committee of the tournament approved Rubel Hossain as a replacement for Mohammad Saifuddin in the Bangladesh squad. Fast bowler Rubel, who has played 159 international matches including 28 T20Is, was named as a replacement after Saifuddin was ruled out due to a back injury. Rubel was a reserve as per the allowance for teams to travel with extra players in view of COVID-19 quarantine requirements.
