ICC T20 Rankings: Pakistan equal India after T20 World Cup show – India’s clash against New Zealand is not only a battle for survival in the T20 World Cup but also a chance for Virat Kohli and Co. to hold onto their place in the ICC Rankings. Pakistan’s super show so far at the tournament has them in discussion for the second spot, having equalled India’s tally with their third straight win on Friday. While India maintains their second spot, a defeat against New Zealand will see them drop down to third.

Pakistan’s heroics in the T20 World Cup have not only put them in pole position to make it to the semi-finals but also given them a chance to leapfrog India in the ICC T20 Rankings. Pakistan were third entering the tournament, but three wins in three games have given them some crucial ranking points, putting them on par with India’s tally, who lost to the Men in Green in their opening game.

Should Virat Kohli and Co. now lose to New Zealand on Sunday, Pakistan will go second, two points ahead of their arch-rivals. England still are on top with 279 points. The rankings will continue to change as the T20 World Cup progresses.
