UEFA Champions League: Cristiano Ronaldo gave Man United teammates hairdryer treatment to inspire epic Atalanta comeback – Cristiano Ronaldo was absolutely furious after Manchester United’s dismal first-half performance in their recent Champions League game against Atalanta. The Red Devils were trailing 2-0 at home to the Serie A side when the 36-year-old launched a scathing attack on his teammates in a manner similar to ex-boss Sir Alex Ferguson. The trick worked as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side won the match 3-2, with Ronaldo himself scoring the winner.

As per The Sun, Cristiano Ronaldo was in the face of his Manchester United teammates as they headed for the dressing room following the first half against Atalanta. He took a page out of Sir Alex Ferguson’s book, giving the squad a hairdryer teammate before they walked onto the pitch for the second half. As per a Sun source, Ronaldo went as far as asking the players “Aren’t you ashamed?” following the disastrous performance.

Manchester United vs Atalanta: The source said, “Cristiano addressed the whole team and told them that the performance was unacceptable. He asked if they were not ashamed and said this was not how Manchester United perform in front of their own fans. He told them they needed to win the game and, if they didn’t, they might not qualify for the next stage of the Champions League.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer then took over and said that the match was yet to be won before sending the team down the tunnel. Bruno Fernandes, who has been a revelation since join the Red Devils, told the manager that there needed to be a change in tactics and that he had to drop deeper on the pitch to get on the ball more.

Manchester United vs Atalanta: The move worked as Manchester United came back hunting like a pack of wolves, with Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire scoring before Cristiano Ronaldo headed in an 81st-minute winner. The turnaround shows the influence the two Portuguese superstars have in the Man United dressing room, and Solskjaer would hope that the team can carry the adrenaline to the game against Liverpool this weekend. If they lose, Solskjaer’s side will be seven points behind rivals Liverpool and potentially eight behind current table-toppers Chelsea.
