T20 World Cup: Yuvraj Singh declares, ‘Team India has depth like Mumbai Indians, can win T20 WC title’
Though the warmup games don’t have any significance going into a tournament or series, they act as a perfect platform to access an individual’s fine form. The likes of KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, M Shami, Rohit Sharma, and J Bumrah showcased their red-hot form giving an insight into how confident the individuals are going into the tournament.
Speaking to Times of India, the 2007 and 2011 World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh said that help feels the current Indian side has a depth like IPL’s Mumbai Indians. He said that the likes of Hardik, Jadeja, and Pant strengthen India’s batting line that can bat till number 8.
“I feel Team India has the same depth as Mumbai Indians. They have 5,6,7 and 8 as allrounders. The left-right combinations. Hardik, Krunal, Pollard are there. They have depth in their batting. They have allrounders. We do have a side like that. If you look at Jadeja, Hardik, and Rishabh, we have a strong side. New guys are also coming in. We have a strong batting line-up. We have all-rounders. We have a strong batting line-up till number 8 and we have a mix of extra bowlers,” Yuvraj spoke to TimesofIndia.com
“I feel we (India) have a very good chance. The UAE wickets can get slow in the second half. So, spinners come in very handy. So, we have a really good, balanced side,” Yuvraj further said.
India will begin its campaign on Sunday against arch-rivals in Dubai. India is clubbed along with Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Scotland, and a team from Group A in Super 12 Group 2.
