T20 World Cup: Another Delhi Capitals player snubbed- In what comes as another shock to DC, spinner Axar Patel was replaced by standby player Shardul Thakur by the Indian team management on Wednesday. This comes even as Axar picked 9 wickets in 7 matches with a brilliant economy in the UAE leg of IPL 2021. Adding fuel to the fire, in-form Shreyas Iyer remained on the standby list despite his good run in IPL 2021 Phase 2. Meanwhile, the selectors remained unimpressed with Shikhar Dhawan despite 500+ runs for consecutive IPL seasons. Follow IPL 2021 playoffs LIVE Updates on InsideSport.in

Earlier today, DC co-owner Parth Jindal had shared a special tweet in support of the DC players.
“All the best to the boys in blue today @DelhiCapitals – everyone has worked extremely hard over the last few years to get this group of players together and I have no doubt that this team can go out there and make us proud today – let’s win this for all the fans – Roar Macha,” he wrote on the micro-blogging website.

However, Hardik Pandya’s poor form and fitness notwithstanding, he has retained his place in the squad. Varun Chakravarthy, the other question mark in the squad, for his injury, has kept his place.
T20 World Cup: Shreyas Iyer remained on standby list– Shreyas Iyer failed to break in the main squad despite his match-winning knocks for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021 Phase 2. He helped DC successfully chase down targets against MI, SRH and RR in the UAE leg.
