Virat Kohli becomes 1st batsman with 6,000 IPL runs

For Virat Kohli, IPL 2021 was a below-par season as he has so far scored just 362 runs in 13 games. The numbers are pretty good but when you look at the stature of Virat, you feel that it was not the best from Virat. However, the RCB skipper achieved a milestone in this season. He became the first and only player to have scored 6000 IPL runs. Virat is playing for RCB since the start of the league in 2008. Before the last league stage match against DC, he has 6240 runs in IPL with 5 centuries and 42 fifties to his name in 205 matches. In the process, he also completed 10000 runs in T20 cricket.

Rohit Sharma completes 400 sixes

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma on Tuesday became the only batsman to hit 400 sixes in T20 cricket. He achieved the landmark while playing for Mumbai Indians against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021. The swashbuckling batsman required just a couple of sixes to reach the milestone. He smashed Shreyas Gopal out of the park to bring his 400th sixes in the 3rd over of MI innings. The individual achievement came as the icing on the cake as MI clinched a do-or-die victory against RR. A victory keeps them in the hunt for a 4th place finish in IPL 2021 group-stage fixtures. Chris Gayle is on top of the list with more than 1000 sixes. His MI teammate Kieron Pollard also features in the list with 758. With plenty of years of cricket left him, he is expected to go past 500+ sixes in his T20 career.
