Most sixes in IPL- In his IPL career, Rohit Sharma is also placed on top of the leaderboard among those with most sixes. He has slammed 227 sixes in 212 matches. He is placed third overall – Chris Gayle tops the list with 357 sixes while AB de Villiers has smacked 249 sixes in their IPL careers.
Rohit Sharma is also the third-highest run-scorer in the history of IPL. He is only behind Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. The 33-year-old bats at a strike rate of 130+ in the IPL.
Most fours in IPL- Besides scoring sixes, Rohit Sharma needs just 12 more boundaries to complete record 500 fours in the Indian Premier League.
“We had to come here and do what we had to do, which was to get the two points. It was a chance to improve our run rate as well. We got off to a flier, and we said there is a chance for us to up the run rate,” said Rohit during the post-match presentation.
“It was the perfect game for us to do that. Kishan is playing after a couple of games, so we wanted him to take his time. I didn’t say anything to him [after he played a maiden]. All we wanted for him was to play his shots, which is what he did,” he added.
