IPL 2021: R Ashwin opens up on his performance with the ball in IPL says,’ Extremely satisfied and happy with my bowling’ – Delhi Capitals premier bowler R Ashwin has said that he is extremely satisfied and happy with his bowling performance in IPL. Ashwin has taken just 5 wickets in 10 matches that he has played so far in IPL 2021. Ashwin also said that he plays according to the situation of the game and try to create wicket-taking opportunity.
“I get to bowl 24 balls in a T20 game. To look to go for wickets is not something that you can do in T20 cricket. My job is to bowl those 24 balls to the best of my abilities. And create wicket-taking opportunities. You cant look to take wickets by putting on a short leg and slip. The way the ball is coming out and the way I am bowling I am extremely happy,” he said during the post-match press conference.

IPL 2021 phase 2
Ashwin was named in the Indian team for ICC T20 World Cup. He made comeback in the T20 Team first time after 2017. However, R Ashwin’s performance in IPL 2021 has put a question mark on his selection.
In the 20th over DJ Bravo bowled a wide ball which Hetmyer and DC coach Ricky Ponting thought should be given no-ball. Opening up on this R Ashwin said, “As the rules state if the ball is pitching behind the stumps it should be wide. If the ball had landed outside the turf but before the stumps it would have been termed as no-ball. It is the clear case of rules.
