IPL 2021 – CSK Worst to Best: CSK skipper MS Dhoni was super pleased that his side made it to the playoffs in what has been a hugely dominant campaign by the three-time champions. Coming off their worst-ever season, Dhoni and Co. have not let their opponents an inch, outclassing them in all departments to rise to the top of the standings in some style, qualifying for the playoffs at ease. After the win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, the CSK captain said that the change in fortunes “meant a lot” and as he breathed a sigh of relief.
IPL 2021: Dhoni said, “It means a lot, because the last time, we said we wanted to come back strong. We are known for that and there was a lot at stake. You won’t always win games and a lot didn’t go our way last time, and it’s important not to make excuses and we have done that this year. “
The Chennai Super Kings captain added, “The boys did well to keep the momentum going, and they’ve taken responsibilities to keep all departments of the game in balance so the players and the support staff get the credit. Not much needs to be said of the fans, who have supported us through thick and thin and I’m glad we have repaid their faith.”
IPL 2021 – CSK Worst to Best Chasing 135, CSK got off to a fine start with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis stitching their 6th 50+ partnership, as the duo eventually scored 45 and 41 respectively. Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni added the finishing touches as Chennai clinched a win in the final over the innings, to consolidate their spot at the top of the table. Earlier in the day, Josh Hazlewood and Dwayne bravo starred to restrict SRH to just 134, with the former picking up the man of the match award for his spell of 3/24.
