SRH vs PBKS in IPL 2021: Ravi Bishnoi continues impressive run – At just 21, Ravi Bishnoi has done miracles in his short two-season IPL career. With his pace and intellect to use his variations, he has stunned the batters like David Warner, Eoin Morgan, Aaron Finch, Suryakumar Yadav amongst many others. On Saturday, in his career-best bowling figures of 3/24, he did just that. His fast-paced deliveries left SRH batsmen bamboozled as Punjab Kings cruised to a 5-run victory, defending 125 runs.

In fact, it was the wicket of Manish Pandey on a tricky Sharjah pitch that would be the best example of his bowling prowess. His fast 99kph googly stunned Manish Pandey as the experienced batter failed to read the ball and it cleaned up his stumps. He then followed it up with Kedar Jadhav, another experienced batter, who is considered one of the best players of spin. He tried to play a late cut off a fast googly and inside-edged to clean up his stumps.

SRH vs PBKS in IPL 2021: Ravi Bishnoi’s third scalp came in Abdul Samad. The SRH batter tried to go after Bishnoi only to give a simple catch to Chris Gayle. And there, Ravi Bishnoi broke SRH’s middle-order, handing Punjab Kings a much-needed win. Had it not been for Jason Holder’s late cameo of 47 runs, PBKS would have wrapped up the match with an even bigger margin.

Ravi Bishnoi was happy to contribute to the win and get the job done after a spectacular failure in the last match.

SRH vs PBKS in IPL 2021: “I was just thinking to bowl wicket-to-wicket and bowl it in the areas that was tough to target. It’s very important for us to win this match to stay in the contention and we were determined to do well,” Ravi Bishnoi said after the match.

Ravi Bishnoi’s IPL career stats:

Bowling Mat Balls Runs WKTS BBM Ave Econ SR
Career 19 426 499 19 3/24 26.26 7.02 22.42
2021 5 120 123 7 3/24 17.57 6.15 17.14
2020 14 306 376 12 3/29 31.33 7.37 25.5

“Last game we lost by a close margin and this victory feels nice. IPL is like that. Last year as well we defended a similar target against SRH in similar conditions and that was the talk before the start of the second innings from the captain and we had the belief,” Bishnoi added.

SRH vs PBKS in IPL 2021: Punjab Kings’ new recruit Aiden Markram was impressed with Ravi Bishnoi and even compared him to Rashid Khan, arguably the best leg-spinner of this generation.

“He was incredible. He is so young but his skill set is on another level. He is going to go from strength to strength. It’s the speed he bowls is similar to Rashid Khan, who is one of the best spinners in the world. Both of them are outstanding bowlers,” Aiden Markram said at the post-match press conference.
