The hosts boast the longest winning streak in ODI cricket, overtaking Ricky Ponting’s 2003 men’s side for the longest run of victories in any form of international cricket. Australia will be hoping to extend their 24-game run. Australia have had little preparation over the last few months, with two bilateral series against New Zealand played over the last 12 months. They haven’t trained for much time either, given a number of Victorian and New South Wales, players have just come out of quarantine this week.

India Women meanwhile will be looking to adapt to the conditions well as they look to seek revenge and end Australia’s dominant run. The Women in Blue haven’t had a great run in ODIs this year, with a 4-1 defeat at home against South Africa and a 2-1 loss against England. Further compounding their woes is the injury to Harmanpreet Kaur, who was ruled out of the first ODI due to a thumb injury.

The Australian side also has a host of injury concerns, Jess Jonassen and Megan Schutt out of the series. Delissa Kimmince has retired while Tayla Vlaeminck is unavailable for the ODI leg of the series. Given the inexperience in the attack and the rustiness of the Australian squad, Indians should fancy their chances to seek revenge and claim a historic series win.
