The WWE Championship match previously announced for the PPV event was shifted to the September 13 edition of Monday Night Raw. Bobby Lashley successfully defended his title against Randy Orton but failed to do against Big E, who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to become the new WWE Champion.
It is expected that Big E might defend his WWE Championship at Extreme Rules PPV against the ex-champion, The All-Mighty Bobby Lashley, however, the match is yet to get the green flag.
