IPL 2021 – England Players IPL 2021: IPL franchises are in a big fix as England players picked for the T20 WorldCup might miss the playoffs of IPL 2021. According to reports,  England team management wants their T20 World Cup-bound full squad to be available for the two-match T20I series against Pakistan.

This means Eoin Morgan, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, Chris Woakes, Tom Curran – neither of these players will be available to their franchises if they reach PLAY-OFFS.

England Squad for T20 World Cup: Eoin Morgan (c), Moeen Ali, Jonathan Bairstow, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Tymal Mills, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood: Reserves: Tom Curran, Liam Dawson, James Vince

IPL 2021 – Googly by England Cricket Board:The England Cricket management is looking at series against Pakistan as the final round of preparation for T20 World Cup in UAE. The board wants that all the selected players should be part of these matches and in process if they have to miss the IPL 2021 Playoffs – then so be it.

The Three Lions have to reach Pakistan on October 9 and the IPL playoffs are scheduled to begin from October 10, England team management wants its players to feature in the series against Pakistan.

The reports furthered that the England management wants their full squad to be available in the second set of two warm-up games that they have planned out in the UAE.

IPL 2021 Phase 2 – England Players IPL Pullout: Earlier on Sunday morning InsideSport.co had reported that the last minute pullout by 3 England players – Jonny Bairstow (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Chris Woakes (Delhi Capitals) and Dawid Malan (Punjab Kings) on Saturday hasn’t gone down well with the concerned franchises. One of the franchise official told InsideSport.co, that they are absolutely tired of last minute withdrawals by the players. One of the concerned franchise also has written to BCCI about the matter. 

“I spoke to our contracted player in England on Thursday evening and he confirmed his arrival to UAE on 15th Sep & also requested us to make arrangements for his partner who he said will be joining with him. We agreed for the same. And on Saturday, we were informed that he is not coming. Coaches, management all are very upset. This is completely unprofessional and against the spirit of our contracts. We have also written to BCCI about it”, said the top official of affected franchise. 
Bairstow, Woakes & Malan pulled out citing ‘personal reasons’ leaving the concerned franchises in lurch. None of the franchise had a idea about the withdrawals of these players. In a last minute rush, Sunrisers Hyderabad has announced Sherfane Rutherford as replacement for Bairstow & Punjab Kings has roped in Aiden Markram for Dawid Malan. 
IPL 2021 Phase 2 – England Players IPL Pullout: Delhi Capitals is yet to announce any replacement for Chris Woakes. 
“See we understand these circumstances are unprecedented for the players. They continuously stay in Bubbles, suffer from mental fatigue, we completely understand that and empathize with them. But they need to understand we too are in a same boat and this last minute issues are very difficult to manage”, rued the concerned official.

IPL 2021 Phase 2 – England Players IPL Pullout: The pullout by England players this IPL is very severe. 6 of the English players have already pulled out of IPL this season. 

Rajasthan Royals is the most affected franchise with pullout by 3 mainstays either due to injuries or other issues. 

List & Status of England Cricketers in IPL 2021:

  • Jos Buttler (Rajasthan Royals) 4.4 Crore – Has pulled out of IPL already citing birth of his child.
  • Jofra Archer (Rajasthan Royals) – 7.2 Crore, Has pulled out due to injury
  • Ben Stokes (Rajasthan Royals) – 12.5 Cr, pulled out citing mental health issues
  • Liam Livingstone(Rajasthan Royals) – 0.75 Cr – Injured & doubtful
  • Chris Woakes (Delhi Capitals– 1.5 Cr) – Pulled out citing Personal Issues
  • Jony Bairstow (Sunrisers Hyderabad – 2.2 Crore) – Pulled out citing Personal Issues
  • Dawid Malan (PBKS – 1.5 Cr) – Pulled out citing Personal Issues
Remaining England Players in IPL 2021:  Eoin Morgan (KKR – 5.25 Cr), Sam Curran (CSK – 5.5 Cr), Moeen Ali (CSK – 7 Crore), Tom Curran (DC – 5.5 Cr), Sam Billings (DC – 2 Crore), Chris Jordan (PBKS – 3 Crore),  Jason Roy (SRH – 2 Cr), Adil Rashid (PBKS), George Garton (RCB)
