WWE Rumors- Kevin Owens eyeing in AEW? This WWE News is regarding WWE Smackdown superstar and former Universal Champion Kevin Owens. The Canadian Superstar’s WWE contract is reportedly set to expire in the next 6 months. Owens mentioned in a spring 2018 interview that he had re-signed with WWE for 5 more years and he will be there with the company until early 2023. However, as per the latest reports, his contract will be expiring in January 2022 now.
WWE Rumors: Why Kevin Owens’ WWE contract expiring in January 2022 instead of 2023?
During the torrid COVID-19 times, WWE axed many superstars, and at the same time, they restructured several contracts in hand. The restructuring led to Kevin Owens’ contract expiration date being changed to January 2020- almost one year before the original expiration date in 2023.

WWE Rumors: Has Kevin Owens already gave signs of heading to AEW?
WWE has been getting a serious run for money from their rival competition, All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The Tony Khan owned AEW has been creating a buzz in recent times courtesy of their latest recruits. Recently former WWE Superstars like Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan), Adam Cole & “The Best in the World,” and perhaps the most popular face in pro-wrestling, CM Punk, joined the promotion, which saw a massive uprise in their viewership ratings.
WWE Rumors: With the rising popularity of AEW, one could easily speculate where Kevin Owens could be heading once his WWE contract gets over and he decides no to sign a new one. Also, the former Universal Champion himself gave air to the rumors on possibly heading to AEW when he referenced his former “Mount Rushmore” stable with former NXT Superstar Adam Cole and AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks.
There is no word on whether the former Universal Champion will renew his WWE contract further once it gets over. However, we will keep you updated when we get more information on this.
