What they said:
“I’m just really happy to be in the quarterfinals here because I really like playing at the US Open, especially with the crowd and the atmosphere is really enjoyable here,” said Sabalenka as quoted by WTA.
“At the Wimbledon, it was my first time in the quarterfinals, so it was kind of something new. It’s still something new for me, because at the US Open it’s the first time, but it’s already second time, so the second time feels a little bit different,” she added.
“From what I remember I played Sabalenka last year in a three-setter,” Krejcikova said.
“She plays extremely well, she is really fit, and has a huge game. It’s going to be extremely difficult and I hope I can recover and be ready to play.”
