Ansu Fati is already a part of FC Barcelona’s history as a record-breaker as well as a vital part of the Spanish national team. Currently, the 18-year-old is still recovering from his injury and was finally seen back into for training after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The club was still waiting to decide upon who would succeed Lionel Messi and wear the iconic jersey for FC Barcelona this season. Messi, who played for the Camp Nou outfit for 20 years took over the number 10 jersey in 2008. The Argentine was more than a capable successor to Ronaldinho and since has gone on to become synonymous with the Number 10 for club and country.
FC Barcelona’s new signings, Memphis Depay, and Sergio Aguero were also rumored to be in the running for the prestigious shirt. However the Dutch forward stuck to the number nine while Aguero decided to don the number 19 for FC Barcelona this season.
With Fati set to play with the number 10 on his back, FC Barcelona will be hopeful of seeing the young 18-year-old La Masia graduate live up to the standers of donning the number 10 for the Catalan giants and preserve the legacy of the jersey.
