IPL 2021 Phase 2 – Akash Deep replaces injured Washington Sundar: What comes as bad news for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of IPL 2021 Phase 2, allrounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of IPL 2021 Phase 2 in UAE. Bengal seamer Akash Deep, who was a net bowler for the team, has been named as a replacement for the UAE leg of the tournament.
Washington Sundar suffered a finger injury during Team India’s practice match against Select County XI during the India tour of England. The off-spin all-rounder played for County XI in the practice match and injured his finger during the game.
“Yes, Washy has a fractured finger just like Avesh who had a thumb dislocation. Both are out of the Test series and will go home. He will also take at least five weeks to start bowling and so no point keeping them here,” a BCCI official had told PTI.
