PKL Auction 2021 Live: Five teams searching for captains in Pro Kabaddi League’s player auction – The Pro Kabaddi League is all set to make a return after two years gap due to Covid-19. The auction ahead of the PKL 2021 season will start on August 29th. The 12 teams have in total released 161 players with Bengal Warriors (16 out of 20) and Telugu Titans (15 out of 18) dropping most of their members.

Other notable players that have been released are Iranian Meraj Sheykh (Dabang Delhi K.C.), Siddharth Desai (Telugu Titans), Sandeep Narwal (U Mumba) and Rishank Devadiga (U.P. Yoddha) among others. Among captains, Rohit Kumar (Bengaluru Bulls), Rohit Gulia (Gujarat Fortunegiants), Dharmaraj Cheralathan (Haryana Steelers), Deepak Hooda (Jaipur Pink Panthers) and Surjeet Singh (Puneri Paltan) were also let go.

Tamil Thalaivas released their three legends; Ajay Thakur, Rahul Chaudhari and Manjeet Chhillar in a bid to shake up their team. These players will be added to the auction pool and can be bought by any of the 12 teams during the three-day Pro Kabaddi auction that starts on August 29.

As was expected many teams have decided to revamp their squads and have let go of their captains as well. So we at Insidesport will take you through the top five teams who are looking for a captain in the PKL auction.

Dabang Delhi KC

Dabang Delhi KC part ways with Joginder Narwal but they have retained Naveen Kumar. The raider helped them reach the final of 2019 season where they lost by the barest of margins. Naveen is still young and thus Delhi will look to buy one captain in this PKL auction.

Jaipur Pink Panthers

After leaving Deepak Hooda, Jaipur Pinkpanther gave everyone a big shock. Now that they are defender Amit Hooda they will aim to buy someone like Rahul Chaudhari who will give them a solid performance in the raiding department and can lead the side as well.

Patna Pirates

For a Kabaddi fan who has followed PKL from the very first season, it is impossible to imagine Patna Pirates without Pradeep Narwal. Now that both have decided to part ways Patna will aim for someone like Manjeet Chhilar who can lead the team from the front.

Tamil Thalaivas

After below-par performances in the last three seasons, Tamil Thalaivas left Ajay Thakur and few more stars as they are looking to build a team from scratch. Retaining just players from the Existing New Young Players category Tamil Thalaivas will be the busiest team in this auction.

Puneri Paltan

Surjeet Singh was dropped from the retention list and now Puneri Paltan are looking to buy some who can lead the team and defend at the same time. Deepak Hooda, who has played for the franchise earlier can be a smart buy for them.
