CPL 2021 Live – SLK vs TKR: Tim Seifert’s knock goes in vain as Saint Lucia Kings beat Trinbago Knight Riders by 5 runs- Trinbago Knight Riders’ batsman Tim Seifert’s explosive knock of 40 runs in 16 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes went in vain as Saint Lucia Kings snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in the last over thriller here at the Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts on Sunday. SLK’s Rostan Chase was named Man of the Match for his extraordinary bowling performance where he gave just 17 runs in his four overs picking up a wicket of Tion Webster.
Chasing a big competitive total of 158 runs, TRK opening batsman Lendl Simmons and Tion Webster played sluggish innings. Simmons scored 25 runs in 30 balls while Tion scored 18 of 17. Colin Munro also could not live up to the expectation as he scored just 40 runs in 47 balls. After the wicket of captain Kieron Pollard, wicket-keeper batsman Tim came on to bat and starting hitting the bowlers out of the park from word go. Tim was the only batsman from TKR side that impressed in today’s game. For SLK, Keemo Paul, Chase and Wahab Riaz took one wicket each.
Earlier, It was indeed a gripping session of play where Faf du Plessis led St Lucia Kings were put to bat first. Off to a good start with a 51-run partnership between Rahkeem Cornwall and Andre Fletcher, St Lucia received a jolt after Ravi Rampaul scalped two wickets in one over. Towards the end, Tim David had set the guns blazing after his quickfire knock of 43 runs.

“This is going to be a good pitch for batting and I’ll tell you why. If you look at what transpired in the first two days, the curator would’ve sprinkled water at the end of the day. That would be around 11pm. But yesterday were two day games and the sprinkling happened earlier, so the water has seeped in,” says Darren Ganga in the pitch report.
