James Vince: It’s a final, anything can happen. Since the first two games, we’ve played good cricket throughout. Have had some easy wins, some tough wins. Bowlers have been outstanding. They’ve taken the headlines but the batsmen have been good as well. Unchanged team.
Moeen Ali: Going to field first. Great venue, great occasion. Have been ready for a while. Have played really well throughout the competition. It’s the young fearlessness we’ve got in the batting lineup. Have come off well so far. Hopefully we can do the same.
BPH vs SOB Dream11 Prediction, Playing11, Captain, Fantasy Tips, Live Streaming details for The Hundred Men’s Final – BPH vs SOB Match Preview: It’s Birmingham Phoenix vs Southern Brave in the first-ever men’s final of The Hundred at Lord’s tonight. Everything will be on the line when these top two teams of the competition will lock horns for the final time tonight.
Both teams have had a different start to their respective campaigns but now stand head to head to be crowned as the first men’s champions of The Hundred. Finishing atop the league standings, Birmingham Phoenix gained a direct entry to the finals while second-placed Southern Brave knocked third-placed Trent Rockets out of the tournament in the Eliminator with a terrific seven wickets win to set up the final against Birmingham Phoenix.
When both the teams met earlier, Southern Brave registered 4 wickets win over Birmingham Phoenix in a nail-biting thriller and also opened their account in the tournament. The James Vince side had faced two defeats in two opening games before finally registering their first win of the competition. Since then, they haven’t faced a defeat and are one step away from lifting the trophy.
Birmingham Phoenix, too, is on a five-match winning streak and will be boosted by the return of first-choice skipper Moeen Ali who was recalled to England’s side for the second Test against India. However, the Phoenix has a few other match-winners too in their ranks and aren’t solely dependent upon Ali. The stand-in captain Liam Livingstone, who is the leading run-scorer as well most six-hitting batsman in the tournament, Adam Milne and Will Smeed are the other key players in the Phoenix squad.
Moreover, a cracking encounter is on the cards along with some rain in the forecast. Although there’s a reserve day for The Hundred Men’s and Women’s Final, the ECB is keen on finishing the tournament on Saturday itself with 25 ball-a-side matches in the plan.
The match will start at 11:00 PM IST and will live stream on the FanCode app for Indian audiences.
