IPL 2021: Delhi Capitals & Sunrisers Hyderabad to leave for UAE on Aug 21 and 31; Check departure dates for other franchises: The second leg of the IPL 2021 has gained further momentum now as Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are all set to leave for the UAE on August 21 and 31 respectively. The two most successful teams of the IPL- Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had already reached the gulf country earlier this week.
“We’ve got the go-ahead and he will be travelling with us to Dubai on August 31,” an SRH official told Cricbuzz. The reports further revealed that T Natarajan- SRH’s quick has recovered from his knee injury and should be in a position to travel with the Sunrisers Hyderabad side. In all likeliness, Natarajan will be released from the NCA by end of the month.
The reports also mentioned that the Delhi Capitals (DC) players will be flying to UAE on August 21. This means that the blue brigade will be the third franchise to touch the desert nation for the second phase of the tournament after MI and CSK.
When will other franchisees reach UAE?
While all the other franchises have mentioned the exact dates of departure/ touchdown in the UAE, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have not finalized the exact date.
- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are planning to leave for Abu Dhabi by August 27.
- Punjab Kings (PKBS) said their players would leave by August 29.
- Rajasthan Royals (RR) will reach Dubai on September 2.
- Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) contingent is likely to leave by the end of the month as per the plans.
As per the mandates, the players will have to undergo a mandatory six-day quarantine on reaching the Gulf country and before starting their preparatory camp.
DC’s star player- Shreyas Iyer already in UAE
Delhi Capitals (DC) batting mainstay- Shreyas Iyer had arrived in Dubai on August 14, days prior to his teammates for special training. Shreyas Iyer has started his preparations for the upcoming IPL 2021 as the DC designated captain returns for the remainder of IPL 2021 after an injury layoff.
Iyer, who dislocated his shoulder during the ODI series against England in March while fielding, missed the first phase of the cash-rich league in India before the tournament was called off on May 4.
MI, CSK in UAE since August 13
Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were the first to reach the desert nation for the second phase of the tournament. The two sides will have the first clash of the second leg as the season will resume on September 19 in Dubai.
