Premier League: MCI vs NOR: Manchester City thrash Norwich 5-0; Grealish scores on home debut Manchester City vs Norwich – Jack Grealish marked his home debut for Manchester City with a goal as the Premier League champions demolished promoted Norwich City 5-0 on Saturday.

Grealish bundled in a low cross by Gabriel Jesus in the 20th minute to double City’s lead after they had taken the lead in the sixth minute with a Tim Krul own goal.

Beaten in their opening game at Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, City looked far sharper and swarmed all over a lightweight Norwich. They also had a Ferran Torres goal ruled out inside the opening 20 minutes.

Norwich, who lost 3-0 to Liverpool on an opening day, avoided any further damage until midway through the second half when Aymeric Laporte fired in from close range. City then turned the screw with Sterling and Mahrez both getting on the scoresheet with well-worked goals.

Manchester City thrash Norwich: Heading into halftime with a 2 goal cushion, Man City come out all guns blazing in the next 45. Aymeric Laporte scores the third in the 64th minute of the match while Raheem Sterling gets on the scoresheet 7 minutes later. Riyad Mahrez makes an instant impact off the bench after coming on for Jack Grealish slotting the ball past Tim Krul.

Manchester City vs Norwich Match Preview

Just like Man City, Norwich too had a disappointing first day at the office in the new Premier League season. Coming back to the top tier of English football, the Canaries failed to pass the Liverpool test suffering from a 3-0 defeat. However, the visitors will look to shrug off their loss and focus on getting back on the winning track when they take to the field at the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola will be eager to grab his first points of the season and look to make a few changes to the team. With Gundogan suffering from an injury during the Spurs clash, Rodri is expected to replace him with Kevin De Bruyne also likely to feature. Norwich on the other hand does not have any injuries news and could stick with their same 11 that started against Liverpool.
