PUBG Mobile generated the highest revenue in July 2021, beating Garena Free Fire and Genshin Impact – Tencent witnessed a huge growth in PUBG Mobile’s revenue for the month of July and became the top-grossing mobile game worldwide, according to SensorTower. PUBG Mobile generated over $299 million from player spending in July which is almost 26.7 percent more than the previous year. As PUBG Mobile dominates the top position, it is closely followed by Honor of Kings from Tencent, which became the second most grossing mobile game worldwide with over $231.2 million gross revenue.

PUBG Mobile generated over $1.5 billion gross revenue in just seven months and is very likely to hit the $2 billion mark in the coming month. Gross revenue generated by PUBG Mobile in July 2021 is the highest in the game’s history with China as the major contributor. Over 68% of the total revenue came from China and was followed by the United States and Turkey with 6.7% and 6% respectively.

The overall global mobile games market witnessed an increase in gross revenue by 7.2% as it generated over $7.6 billion from player spending. The top contributor of the global revenue was the United States in July, generating over $2.2 billion. The second most top-grossing game Honor of kings was followed by Genshin Impact from miHoYo, Pokemon GO from Niantic and Roblox from Roblox Corporation as the next top-grossing apps.
Pokemon GO also experienced a successful month, generating over $150.4 million gross revenue in player spending all over the world. Pokemon GO fest played an important role for this success and saw a surge of around $21 million on July 17 and July 18. Garena Free Fire was in ninth place for the list of top-grossing games in July, which was not at all satisfying for the franchise as it managed to beat PUBG Mobile in the month of June.
