Tokyo Olympics: Virat Kohli congratulates Indian winners and participants at Tokyo Olympics: Indian skipper Virat Kohli lauded the Indian athletes for participating and bringing laurels to the country in Tokyo Olympics 2020. Soon after India’s first Test against England concluded in a draw, Kohli put out the congratulatory for the Indian contingent in Tokyo on his Twitter account.

The 32-year-old took to the microblogging site and shared a beautiful collage of all the medal bearers for India in Tokyo. The post captioned, “Congratulations to all our winners and participants at the Olympics. Winning and losing is a part of sport, but what matters is you gave your best for the nation.We are so proud of you and I wish you all the very best going forward. Jai Hind.

Kohli’s words aimed to pump up the athletes and emphasised putting forth the best for the nation.

India’s triumph at the 32nd edition of the Olympics tasted different as India lifted 7 medals and overtook its previous best tally of six medals which they had achieved at the 2012 London Games.

India athletes-   javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra (gold), weightlifter Mirabai Chanu (silver), badminton player PV Sindhu (bronze), boxer Lovlina Borgohain (bronze), men’s hockey team (bronze), wrestlers Ravi Kumar Dahiya (silver) and Bajrang Punia (bronze) bagged the seven medals for the nation.

India opened the Tokyo campaign with Chanu’s silver on the first day and concluded the prestigious games with Chopra’s historic gold medal on the penultimate day.
