IPL 2021 Phase 2: 5 major instructions/ advisory to IPL franchises ahead of UAE leg– With just 6 weeks left for the IPL 2021 Phase 2, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is leaving no stones unturned for the smooth conduct of the T20 league. The cricket body is ensuring the health and safety of all parties involved. It has come up with a 46-page health advisory comprising all the key pointers that IPL players and staff need to follow. For the same, the board has set up as many as 14 bio-bubbles, including eight for the IPL franchises.

- All the players and staff will have to undergo a mandatory quarantine of 6 days before joining the team.
- The players from England vs India series, Sri Lanka vs South Africa series and CPL 2021 will be allowed to join via bubble-to-bubble transfer.
- There will be 8 bio-bubbles for IPL teams, 3 each for match officials, match management team and broadcast crew, commentators.
- To avoid any error, even the drivers of the buses/ vehicles will also stay in a bio-secure bubble. They will be tested regularly and undergo temperature screening.
- The players will take only sanitised vehicles- buses and cars allotted by the BCCI after landing in the UAE.
- The general public including media persons will not have access to the bubble facilities as well as stadiums for any activities
The Doping Control Personnel (DCP) will also follow the same social distancing and testing protocols as followed by the franchise teams, before and after arrival in the UAE. DCP will also be covered under the Bio-Secure Environments protocols and a separate Bio-Secure bubble will be created for them.
Mumbai Indians will lock horns with CSK on September 19 to resume IPL 2021. The final game of the league stage will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on October 8.
