India tour of England: Good news for England, Jofra Archer set to return to action after injury break- What comes as a piece of good news for England ahead of Test series against India, pace spearhead Jofra Archer will return after a two-month injury break. The 26-year-old will mark his return with a T20 Blast game for Sussex. He has been bowling regularly with his county teammates at Hove during practice sessions. The right-arm pacer had undergone elbow surgery after the England tour of India after missing the limited-overs series and IPL 2021 Phase 1, as per a Dailymail report.

Jofra Archer is a key prospect for England against India. He has developed himself into one of the most lethal fast bowlers in the world. He has played just 13 matches for England in Tests, picking up 42 wickets. He can create trouble for India’s top order- Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, among others.

Jofra Archer had missed England’s Test Series against New Zealand and their limited-overs series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

In May, Archer wrote in his Daily Mail column that he was willing to sit out of the upcoming India series to get his recovery right, with the focus being on the T20 World Cup and the Ashes. It read, “The way I am looking at things is that I would rather miss a few weeks of a year so that I have a few more years in my career.”

However, Archer might reconsider his decision as England are yet to announce their Test squad against India. The announcement is likely to take place after the Pakistan tour of England that ends on July 20. They will host a five-match series starting August 4.
