BAN vs SL: Rubel Hossain and Hasan Mahmud ruled out of upcoming ODI series due to injury- Bangladesh pacers Rubel Hossain and Hasan Mahmud have been ruled out of the upcoming 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. The two players have sustained back injuries and need rehabilitation to make a come back to the national squad. The development comes just a week ahead of the ODI series.
“Both of them (Rubel and Hasan) are ruled out as we don’t want to include anyone in the squad with any kind of doubt (with their fitness),” BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricbuzz.
“Rubel is having an injury that usually happens to pace bowlers with a long career. It is a common problem with pace bowlers with a career spanning over 12 to 15 years. Due to this injury, we have seen a lot of pace bowlers’ careers ending abruptly,” added BCB’s chief physician Debashish Chowdhury.
On a positive note, Mohammad Saifuddin and Mossadek Hossain have recovered from their injuries and are likely to be included in the 15-member squad.
