IND vs SL: Shreyas Iyer likely to miss ODI and T20 series against Sri Lanka- India’s No.4 batsman Shreyas Iyer is likely to miss ODI and T20 series against Sri Lanka that is slated to take place in July. He is unlikely to recover from a left-arm injury that he had sustained during the ODI series against England in March earlier this year.
The Delhi Capitals skipper was a top contender to lead India in absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma but injury will force him to be out of action. The BCCI medical staff hopes Iyer to be fit for the upcoming T20 World Cup in September.

Last month, he underwent a successful surgery of the injured shoulder that he sustained against England in the ODI series.
Iyer had partially dislocated his shoulder while fielding during the 1st ODI of the England series in March.
This was the third time since IPL 2020 that Iyer had hurt the left shoulder.
“He first suffered the injury first during last year’s IPL. It flared up during the Australia tour, and then he was fit after rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). However, he hurt his shoulder again during the England series when he dived on the advertising mat while fielding inside the circle. He should be fit in time for the T20 World Cup,” The Times of India quoted a source as saying.
