He played a match-winning performance, scoring an unbeaten 47 to guide KKR to their second win in IPL 2021. He took his time in his innings to ensure KKR complete the run chase. He also stitched a fifty partnership with Rahul Tripathi to recover KKR after early scare in the match. Besides this, Morgan has also completed 7,000 runs in the shortest version of the game.

In the match, Morgan came in to bat when KKR were tottering at 17/3 after 3 overs. In his 40-ball innings, he smashed 4 boundaries and a couple of sixes. The skipper ensured that he finish off the game as KKR.
