A clean striker of the cricket ball, Raina is also an amazing fielder and has become a pillar for CSK. He couldn’t succeed in Test cricket but played a role in India’s 2011 World Cup win. Suresh Raina’s International Debut: Raina first played for India in 2005, during a tri-series in Sri Lanka. His debut match was against the host nation at Dambulla.

Suresh Raina’s Test Record: Despite scoring a hundred on his Test debut, against Sri Lanka, Raina couldn’t succeed at the Test level. His technique was found out in testing conditions and despite repeated chances, he couldn’t get over them.

Suresh Raina’s ODI Record: Raina was a regular and important member of the Indian ODI team almost from the beginning of his career. His ability to strike boundaries and save runs in the field made him a highly valued player. He also played a crucial role in India’s 2011 World Cup win but was struggling to maintain his place in the side by next year. Once his decline started, he couldn’t quite recover.

Suresh Raina’s T20 Record: Raina played in India’s first T20I match, against South Africa in that country. But he didn’t play in the 2007 World T20 which India won. Still, he was a force to reckon with in this format. However, it was also in T20 cricket, the 2009 World T20 specifically, that his weakness against the short ball came to light. He never fully recovered from that.

Suresh Raina’s IPL Record: The left-hander from Uttar Pradesh has been a pillar for CSK since its inception. The only time he didn’t play for this team was when they were serving a two-year suspension. His performance in IPL over the years has been among the best by any player and he is one of the big reasons for the team’s success in this tournament.
