He made his ODI debut in 2013 but hasn’t been able to remain a regular member of the side. But his continued success in T20 format, both with the bat and the ball, made him a prized possession in IPL for Rajasthan Royals who bought him for a record Rs 16 crore. Chris Morris’ International Debut: In December 2012, Morris made his first appearance for South Africa, in the T20I format. It was in a match against New Zealand where he had impressive figures of 2/19 before sustaining an injury that forced him to go off the field. However, he came back into the team and even made his ODI debut the next year.

Chris Morris’ Test Record: Due to his great success in T20 cricket, Morris was never regarded as a great prospect for South Africa in Test cricket. Also, there were plenty of other talented bowlers around for the Proteas. Still, the all-rounder made his Test debut in 2016. But he has played just four Tests so far and taken 12 wickets. He is unlikely to play more in near future.

Chris Morris’ ODI Record: After coming into the Proteas ODI team for the 2013 Champions Trophy, Morris had a stop-start career in the 50-over format. He has come up with some good performances, both with the bat and ball, but has lacked consistency. In all, he has played just 42 ODIs so far and has taken 48 wickets.

Chris Morris’ T20 Record: Surprisingly, Morris has played only 23 T20 matches for South Africa in his career so far but has a good wicket-taking record. However, his economy rate of 8.39 is on the higher side. But 34 wickets at a strike-rate of 14.6 aren’t bad figures at all.

Chris Morris IPL Record: After picking up 15 wickets in his maiden IPL season – 2013 – Morris has been getting wickets in double digits every season except 2018. In all, he has 80 wickets in 70 matches. In terms of runs, Morris has 551 under his belt with two fifties. However, he is certainly a better batsman than his average of 23.95 would suggest.
