Jofra Archer Profile: Ending England’s search for a genuinely quick bowler, Jofra Archer emerged from the T20 league circuit to gain English selectors’ attention and get into the team in time for the 2019 World Cup. His high pace, ability to bowl yorkers, and good control in death overs made him a leading asset for England, even in the Test format. Jofra Archer International Debut: Due to his immense talent, English cricket administrators raced against time and even changed their rules to get Archer qualifier for representing England in World Cup 2019. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) succeeded and Archer made his England debut against Pakistan in an ODI series just before the big event.

Jofra Archer Test Record: After his brilliant performance in the World Cup, Archer was brought into the Test team for the second Ashes Test at Lord’s as a replacement for James Anderson. He continued his brilliant run of form in this format also and rattled Australia with his pace. He suffered a lull in form after the Ashes but roared back to good form in the 2020 home season. He currently has 42 wickets from 13 matches with three 5-wicket hauls.

Jofra Archer ODI Record: Jofra Archer has already etched his name in ODI history by bowling the super over for England in the 2019 World Cup final and succeeding in his task. His ability to bowl yorkers and high pace have made him England’s main seam bowler in the format. 30 wickets in just 17 matches is a testament to his success.

Jofra Archer T20 Record: Even before becoming an England player, Archer was a superstar in T20 league cricket, especially Big Bash League (BBL) and Indian Premier League (IPL). He has just played a dozen T20Is so far for England but has shown how good he is in them. 12 wickets in 12 matches is a modest-looking record but his pace makes him a necessity for England in this format.

Jofra Archer IPL Record: The 2018 season saw the herald of Archer on the IPL stage. Playing for Rajasthan Royals, who bought him for a very impressive Rs 7.20 crore, the Barbados-born pacer impressed everyone by picking up 15 wickets in just 10 matches. Since then, he has become one of the biggest stars in the league – with 46 wickets in 35 matches for the team in Pink.
