IPL 2021 – Will CSK, DC & RR be benefitted from neutral venue rule? There has been a lot of chatter about the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision of ‘neutral venue’ rule for IPL 2021. The Indian cricket body on Sunday, announced the schedule for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. The league will begin on April 9, with the final scheduled on May 30.
Unlike the previous editions in India, the matches will be held in six cities with no home advantage to the IPL franchise. However, according to reports, some franchises believe that the plan can be counter-productive.

BCCI shortlisted Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Delhi as the host cities this season. While the first four cities will host 10 matches each, the last two will host eight games each.
The officials argued that some teams having players from certain states might be at an advantage playing at certain venues.
Three teams to benefit most from ‘neutral venue rule’
MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals (DC), and Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) will benefit the most despite the new IPL format.
The three IPL franchises have most players who belong to the states where their respective teams are scheduled to play the league-stage games.
While RR have the highest with six players, CSK and DC have five players each in their squad.
