Ind vs Aus 3rd Test: Injury scare for Will Pucovski: Another injury scare for Will Pucovski after the youngster Australian batsman injured his shoulder on the fifth and final day of Sydney Test. He was hurt after diving for a ball at mid-wicket during the second session and has now been sent for a scan.
The opener stayed down for a few seconds as teammates came to his aid and he clutched at his right shoulder, before leaving the field at the end of the over.
Pucovski scored a stylish 62 in the first innings in Sydney, as the likes of Ricky Ponting said he could be a 10-year player at the top of the order for Australia.
The hosts are in a commanding position, at the tea interval, as India’s score read 280/5, and it is still 127 runs away from the target. For the visitors, Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin are currently unbeaten on 4 and 7 respectively. In the second session, 74 runs were scored from 26 overs.
Resuming the second session on the final day at 206/3, Pant and Pujara stuck to their individual approaches of scoring runs, and mixed caution with aggression to keep the scoreboard moving. However, Australia came back strongly as they got the crucial wicket of Pant (97) with India still 157 runs away from the target. Pant was sent back to the pavilion by Nathan Lyon, reducing India to 250/4.
