IPL 2025: Good news for LSG
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have received a massive boost ahead of IPL 2025 with the news that Mitchell Marsh will join the team after recovering from a back injury. However, Marsh will only contribute with the bat, not bowl, in order to manage his workload. His addition is timely, given the injury concerns surrounding LSG’s pace attack. Who is the new KKR player?
Chetan Sakariya, a 27-year-old left-arm pacer, has joined Team KKR as a net bowler ahead of IPL 2025. Sakariya is on a comeback trail after a major wrist injury and was spotted by KKR bowling coach Bharat Arun at a T20 tournament in Mumbai. This opportunity could revive his career, allowing him to train alongside established bowlers. Sakariya last played for India in 2021 and has 20 IPL wickets in 19 matches. WPL Final Confirmed!
Mumbai Indians (MI) thrashed Gujarat Giants (GG) by 47 runs in the WPL 2025 Eliminator, booking their spot in the final against Delhi Capitals. GG had a horror show on the field last night, dropping four catches in the entire 20 overs. MI’s Hayley Matthews (77), Nat Sciver-Brunt (77), and Harmanpreet Kaur (36) starred with the bat, while Amelia Kerr (2/28) and Matthews (2/31) impressed with the ball. Harry Brook banned.
The BCCI has suspended England’s Harry Brook from the IPL until 2028 due to his last-minute withdrawal from IPL 2025, citing personal reasons. This is the first time the BCCI’s new rule, introduced to prevent last-minute pullouts, has been enforced. The rule states that players who withdraw after being picked at the auction will be banned for two seasons. Brook, who was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.25 crore, will miss IPL 2026 and 2027. Mark Wood injured
England pacer Mark Wood has been ruled out for four months after undergoing knee surgery, which means he’ll miss the upcoming Test series against India starting June 20. Wood suffered a medial ligament injury during the Champions Trophy. Although he’s expected to be fit for the Ashes series, his absence will be a blow to England.
