In what has come as a major development, Team India’s date to depart for the ICC Champions Trophy has been revealed. According to reports, Rohit Sharma and his men will be travelling to Dubai three days after the completion of their ongoing 3-match bilateral series against England. While the series will be concluded on February 12, the selected players in the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy will depart on February 15, Saturday.
Rohit’s India not to play any warm-ups for ICC Champions Trophy
According to Sports Tak, the Indian team won’t be playing any warm-up matches before the ICC Champions Trophy as well. Usually, teams play at least one game before a mega ICC event. However, due to tight scheduling and logistical constraints, India won’t be having enough time to schedule a warm-up tie.
One major reason for this is definitely due to the fact that India will be playing all their games in Dubai and not Pakistan, the official hosts of the Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian Government’s denial to send India to Pakistan forced the ICC to make this tournament play in a hybrid model. Moreover, the reports also say that the BCCI will hold a special media press conference before departing to Dubai.
