There is just a flurry of reports surrounding Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir and skipper Rohit Sharma. One does not know which report to believe. While many suggested that the BCCI might take a stern action on the trio, there is a fresh one in IANS, that says that there might be no action against them.

Virat Kohli averaged only 23 in the series, including a century in Perth, while Rohit Sharma only scored 31 runs, and Gautam Gambhir has lost six Tests already as the head coach, and won only three. But then, the culprits are not only to stay around for the Champions Trophy, but also the IND vs ENG Test series, in June-July.
“Yes, there will be a review meeting but no firing. C’mon, you can’t sack a coach for the batters’ poor show in one series. Gautam Gambhir will remain the coach, and Virat and Rohit will feature in the England series. The focus is Champions Trophy,” IANS cited BCCI sources as saying.
BCCI Might Just Warn Stakeholders
Gambhir too was asked about the future of Kohli, and did not reveal much. “I can’t talk about the future of any player. It is up to them as well. But yes, what I can say is that they still have hunger and passion, they are tough people. Hopefully, they can continue to take Indian cricket forward. But ultimately, as we all know, whatever they plan, it will be in the best interest of Indian cricket,” Gambhir said.

Meanwhile, for now all eyes will be on the team selection for the upcoming limited-overs series against England, starting on Jan 23. There India will play three ODIs and five T20Is. Post that in Feb, the Champions Trophy will begin for India in Dubai.
