Australia opener Sam Konstas just can’t keep himself out of controversies. Following his incident with Virat Kohli on debut, he has now rubbed shoulders with Jasprit Bumrah in IND vs AUS 5th Test. The incident saw the duo have a verbal exchange following which the Indian pacer exacted revenge by getting rid of Usman Khawaja in the very next delivery to close the day’s play.

The incident occurred in the 3rd over of Australia’s 1st innings as Bumrah was bowling to Khawaja. Konstas, who was at the non-strikers end, was involved in a heated verbal exchange with Bumrah. In the very next delivery, the premium pacer succeeded in getting rid of Usman Khawaja, following which he gave a cold stare to the 19-year-old.

Konstas started off his innings on a confident note, smashing Bumrah for a boundary off the very first delivery. While he attempted to rub shoulders with the Indian captain, the latter was not taking any of it and responded with a wicket off the final delivery of the day. A pumped up Indian side rallied behind Bumrah while Konstas was at the receiving end of a cold stare from the pacer.
In his debut game at the MCG, the young Aussie opener displayed some fearless batting, taking Bumrah to the cleaners with some innovative shots. However, Virat Kohli wasn’t having any of the disrespect shown towards Bumrah and went on to shoulder bump the youngster. As a result, the Indian batter was fined 20% of his match fee and was handed one demerit point.
