Both Smith and Kohli have one centuries to their name in the ongoing series. While the Indian batting maestro slammed a hundred in the 2nd innings of the 1st Test in Perth, his Australian counterpart did so at the Gabba in Brisbane in the 3rd Test. Considered a part of the Fab 4, the duo have been left behind by Joe Root, who has been in exceptional form.

Smith’s century has now put Australia firmly in the driver’s seat in this contest as the hosts are going on to amass a mammoth 1st innings total. The Australian batter came out to bat on Day 1 and batted for nearly two sessions before walking back unbeaten at the end of the day’s play. He put up a strong partnership with Labuschagne on Day 1, putting Australia much ahead of India despite the latter getting a burst of wickets in the final session.
