India Cricket Team ace-rounder Hardik Pandya is all set to be back in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Hardik Pandya previously missed the opening phase of the tournament. But now Hardik Pandya is back with Baroda and is set to be in action against Bengal on Round 4 of the clash. Interestingly, this will be the first time Pandya will be back in action in the ODIs after a long back.
Hardik Pandya last played a 50-over match in the ODI World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh. Pandya picked up an injury while bowling and was then ruled out of the entire tournament. And now after a gap of more than a year, Pandya is back in the 50-over format.
Hardik Pandya to feature for Baroda in Vijay Hazare Trophy
Hardik Pandya missed out on the opening three games owing to personal reasons. But now he will be back in action against Bengal on 28th December in Hyderabad. The veteran all-rounder had previously claimed that he wished to make a return to the 50-over format.
And now when the time is there Hardik is ready to be back in action. He recently played for India in the T20I series against South Africa. Following this he participated in the domestic cricket – Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He has been in deft touch in SMAT where he tonked 246 runs in 7 games, smashing 2 fifties and having a brilliant strike rate of around 194.
For Team India, this is very good news. With the ICC Champions Trophy on the horizon, the Men in Blue will be keen to see their ace all-rounder fit and ready to take part in the tournament. Furthermore, while playing in the domestic cricket tournament, Pandya will also be match-fit before the IND vs ENG T20I and ODI series.
