However, I did not have an active executive role, nor was l involved in the day-to-day operations of the businesses. Given my demanding schedule as a professional cricketer, TV presenter, and commentator, neither did I have the time nor expertise to participate in their operations. Understanding the PF Fraud Case

The controversy stems from an arrest warrant issued by PF Regional Commissioner Shadakshari Gopal Reddy. The warrant directs Pulakeshinagar police to take action against Uthappa, alleging that a private firm associated with him, Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Pvt. Ltd, deducted PF contributions from employees’ salaries but failed to deposit them. The alleged fraud amounts to Rs 23-24 lakh.

The cricketer also addressed the Provident Fund allegations, explaining that his legal team had responded to the authorities, presenting evidence of his non-involvement. “When the Provident Fund authorities issued notices demanding payment of dues, my legal team responded, highlighting that I had no role in these companies,” he said. He added that the authorities were provided with documentation from the companies themselves, affirming his lack of involvement.

Despite these submissions, the PF authorities have reportedly continued proceedings, leading to an arrest warrant being issued. Uthappa reassured that his legal advisors are actively working to resolve the matter.
