Watch: KL Rahul suffers freak injury scare in nets before IND vs AUS Boxing Test

KL Rahul is currently the second highest run getter in the Border Gavaskar Trophy with 235 runs

It is as if the odds are stacked against the India Cricket Team. Ahead of the IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, ace Indian batter KL Rahul has suffered a freak injury scare. While practicing at the nets, Rahul was struck on the arm. This is not the first occurrence of such an incidence during this Border Gavaskar Trophy.

A similar incident took place before the Perth Test when Rahul suffered a blow to his hand. And on Saturday a similar incident repeated itself. KL Rahul was struck on his right wrist. Immediately he was attended by the physio who was then spotted tightly taping and straping his wrist.

KL Rahul – MVP for Team India

KL Rahul has been the most important player for Team India in this series. He has been India’s highest run-getter over the last 3 Test matches and overall the second-highest after Travis Head. Despite not scoring a single century he has already amassed 235 runs over 5 innings.

Starting this series, he was promoted to the opener’s spot in place of Rohit Sharma and he has looked ever comfortable. Rahul has been in good form and Team India will be banking on their star batter to perform to his fullest during the Melbourne and Sydney Tests.

As things state, it is currently unknown as to the extent of injury that he has suffered. Since 5 days still remain before the start of the Test, it can be expected that he will recover in time. A similar incident took place before the Perth Test, but he came back strongly to perform for his country.
